This hands-on workshop introduces you to Bataireacht, Ireland's traditional martial art of stick fighting. The Doyle Clan style of shillelagh combat turns a simple walking stick into a devastatingly effective self-defense tool. Discover the fascinating history behind this nearly-lost martial art while learning fundamental strikes and blocks and participating in friendly drilling exercises (no combat experience needed!).

Coach Jim Poulin has been a member of the Dojo Family since 2006 and holds a Second Degree Black Belt in Kempo Karate. Jim has been training in Bataireacht for seven years and trains directly with Bernard Leddy, North American and European Chieftan of the 200-year-old Doyle Clan fighting style, and one of the practitioners credited for the revival of this nearly-lost martial art.
